Hello to you from First Grade!
Spring is here at last! We love all the fresh air and sunshine. It feels so good to run out and play and not have to wear our heavy coats! Thank you God for the beauty and warmth of Spring!
In Religion we are learning about Saul/Paul. We can see how the love of Jesus could turn mean old Saul who persecuted Christians into a loving Paul who eagerly spread the Gospel message wherever he went! Jesus can truly work miracles in anybody's life!
In Math we are practicing our addition and subtraction facts. Be sure to get out the flashcards and get those facts memorized. Second grade math will be a snap IF facts are memorized!
Our field trip to Kennedy Park was wonderful! We had perfect weather for our picnic lunch. After a long hike we enjoyed seeing all the displays in the Conservation center. We learned a lot about animals that we have right here in Iowa.
We are going on a few more field trips before the end of the year. We will be singing God's praises to the residents of the Villa Care. We love to see the smiles on all their faces when we sing and bring them something that we made ourselves! Afterwards we will enjoy lunch at McDonald's. Later in May, if weather permits, we will be going mini golfing at HisNHerrs Golf. We hope to walk to Blanden art museum and maybe do a quick trip to Becker Florists to see all the beautiful plants.
It has been a wonderful year of learning, caring, and sharing. I hope everyone has a terrific summer vacation. Make sure that you keep reading all through the summer. Perhaps you could make it part of your bedtime routine! God Bless and Keep You in His Loving Care!
In His Service,
Miss Sanford
